About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

RARE "SHAMROCK" OAK AND ALUMINUM EXECUTIVE DESK BY JENS RISOM
With polished chrome shamrock legs; circa 1960s; also works well as a small dining table
Item # 802PVK24S

An incredibly interesting and very finely crafted executive desk designed by Jens Risom circa the late 1960s, it is notable for its beautiful metal work. The brilliant grain of the oak veneered top is showcasedrecessed into the brushed metal frame, these coming together with a perfect joint against the inset shamrock legs. It works beautifully as both an executive desk or as a smaller dining table. Risom designed several more complete executive desks in this "Shamrock" line, but this example is particularly interesting for its austerity and overall simplicity of lines throughout.

Measurements:  72 1/4 W x 37 1/4 D x 28 1/2 H

Condition Report:
A few spots of ding and surface flaws to the oak; numerous scuffs to polished legs and apron; sturdy and very strong.
