ADAM’S STYLE DISTRESSED WHITE PAINTED PIER MIRROR
Circa early 20th century
Item # 611GPX03P
This very attractive antique pier mirror is handsomely executed with extensive relief carving, both applied and of the solid, showing a distinct Adam’s/Hepplewhite influence as interpreted by the early 20th century craftsman. The very early and probably original painted surface is quite interesting, the beige paint having rubbed into the gesso beneath and allowing a certain complexity in the overall patina. Natural wear from handling over the years has introduced a delightful surface variation.
