FRENCH LOUIS XV STYLE KINGWOOD AND ORMOLU HALL TABLE
Circa last quarter of 19th century
Item # 609ODU25P
With a wonderful undulating form, this finely designed hall table has great stance in it’s bold cabriolet legs, the edge following through in the curvature of the apron. Gilt bronze mounts are tastefully employed throughout to create strikepoints of acanthus and foliate displays in the apron, the corners and in the beautifully cast sabots. Finely cast edge molding with twists of leaves are applied to the inner and outer edge of the legs, following through along the underside of the table and protecting the exotic veneers. It is a very fine strikepoint piece.
