FRENCH LOUIS XV STYLE CARVED GILTWOOD CONSOLE
Circa second half of 20th century
Item # 803GET07P
A beautifully carved giltwood console in the Louis XV taste, it was likely crafted during the second half of the 20th century. The marble top is quite attractive and conforms to the curvature of the frame, the lip of the marble layered to give depth without requiring the full depth and weight of stone. It features a strong Rococo inspiration with relentlessly curving legs and a pierced rocaille in the frame and stretcher. Of a very nice restrained size, it is a very nice strikepoint for the classical interior.
