French Louis XVI Style Inlaid Fruitwood Server, 19th Century
FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE INLAID FRUITWOOD BUFFET
Circa late 19th century
Item # 806OEM16K
This beautiful French Louis XVI style server is a product of the last quarter of the 19th century, carefully inlaid with matched grain marquetry displays in the doors and exotic fruitwood set in pleasing angular arrays. The thick marble top is carved with conforming turrets over the four columns that raise the cabinet over toupee feet; each column is inlaid with alternating bands of fruitwood to create an illusion of fluting. The middle doors are lined with pleated fabric and all doors open to reveal adjustable shelved interiors. It is a very attractive and practical object for the classical interior.
