PAIR OF FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE GILTWOOD POLYCHROMED SIDE CHAIRS
Circa late 19th century
Item # 709ZUD23P

This very attractive pair of 19th century side chairs exhibit a very competent carver’s hand at work, particularly in the crest where a fully developed floral display is budding.  The surface is noteworthy, the gilt and polychromed paint delightfully worn and burnished from years of rubbing, resulting in a quite complex patina throughout.  Both will need to be reupholstered, but remain comfortable and very sturdy.  We are also cataloging a matching settee separately, which may still be available in our shop inventory.

Measurements:  18 5/8” W x 18 5/8” D x 37 3/8” H, 17” H to seat

Condition Report:
Upholstery must be changed (poor condition), extensive surface wear.  Sturdy, stable and comfortable.
