PAIR OF POUL JENSEN FOR SELIG TEAK Z LOUNGE CHAIRS WITH OTTOMAN
Two chairs retaining original Selig seal, circa 1950's
Item # 702KIK11Z

This gorgeous pair of vintage sculpted teak “Z” lounge chairs were designed by Poul Jensen in the 1950’s, manufactured and finished by Selig in Massachusetts and retaining the original seals on the chairs with the Selig upholstery tags on the ottoman.  They are finely crafted with tight frames and beautiful sculpting of the hardwoods. Particularly striking is the side profile of the pair, the intense angularity most attractive.  The chairs and ottoman are tight and firm in all joints, but both the finish and upholstery are original and should eventually be restored/replaced.

Measurements:  29 1/2” W x 27 1/2” H x 31” D, 15 1/2” H to front edge of seat

Condition Report:
Original faux-leather upholstery must be changed.  Old finish to teak should be refinished, somewhat grayed and worn, finish loss along arms.  Chip to one front foot of arm chair.  Selig seal missing on footstool, several straps replaced with burlap webbing with bent steel ends that mimic the original straps.  Tight joints and sturdy structure - very comfortable.
