CESARE CONSTANTINO CERIBELLI (ITALIAN, 1841-1918) BRONZE BUST OF BIANCA
Polychromed cold painted patina, signed verso, titled Bianca on front of integral socle
Item # 703LQP20K
This exceptionally well cast bust is a most refined presentation with it’s red-oxide and deep brown experty cold-painted surfaces over crisp and inordinately finely chiseled bronze. The figure, identified as “Bianca" on the placard along the integral socle, is a powerful female figure with a gaze of determination and full competence; her head is held high as her eyes look forward unfazed by what lies ahead. Her garment is inordinately well developed, the complex and highly detailed shirt with high-relief motifs throughout the red portion of the garment. The popped collar is flanked on either side by twisted brades that flow over the shoulder. A large brooch hangs from her neck. The entire sculpture rests over a rouge marble stand with a gilt bronze rim along the bottom edge. This is a most fine acquisition for the passionate collector of fine Art Nouveau sculptures from the first quarter of the 20th century. Finely preserved with a glowing silky surface, the sculpture presents most attractively.
