ANTIQUE ROOM-SIZE HERIZ RUG
Persia, circa 1900
Item # 009QRH18D
With a fine mellowed palette in the softened hues of the vegetable dyes developed over the years, this very fine Heriz was executed at the turn of the century and remains in exquisite original condition. The overall ground is a warm brick red that remains largely open with a matrix of woven vines and small floral representations framed in beige spandrels. An angular eight-point medallion in the center is a powerful visual element with dark navy blue in the points and reductionist beige in the center.
An incredibly fine and well-preserved.
