About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

PAIR OF CHERRY "WATERFALL" NIGHTSTANDS
Designed and executed by Hardwood Artisans circa 2003
Item # 206FQX04L

Designed and executed in 2003 by Hardwood Artisans of Virginia, these tables are still made by the company but with different dimensions (26" high) for around $ 1100/ea for the cherry version. The present pair were purchased in 2003 and remain in excellent overall condition. Sleek and austere in design, they feature a single hand-dovetailed drawer that slides in and out smoothly over grooved horizontal slats set into the sides of the drawers. The top is composed of several cherry boards set together with a molded integral edge, the table legs coming up through the table top and locked in place with split-wedges in the tenons.

Built to last the test of time with expert joinery throughout, this is a form that will remain exactly how it is for generations if well-cared for.

Measurements: 20" H x 20" D x 24" W

Condition Report:
Light surface wear and use indicators throughout; overall retaining a nice consistent surface color; sturdy and strong, a good presentation.
