LOUIS XVI STYLE PAINTED SECRETAIRE OVER CHEST OF DRAWERS
Circa early-to-mid 20th century
Item # 006GPI30P
With a worn yellow painted surface with hints of red, brown and white beneath against sporadic silver highlights, this chest of drawers is a delightful piece that is both visually compelling and also incredibly useful. The top lifts to reveal a tidy desk space, convenient for organizing bills, stamps and for the occasional letter writing, while the lower drawers are perfectly functional and slide in and out of the case smoothly. Likely a product of the 1940s, it is beautifully carved with sharp fluting and crisp foliage around the legs. It has a relatively shallow depth and does not overwhelm the room, rather complimenting a classical room beautifully.
Measurements: 36 1/8" H x 18 3/8" D x 27 3/8" W
Heavily worn painted surface throughout with staining to interior surfaces and chipping throughout.
