FRENCH PROVINCIAL PATINATED OAK SERVER CABINET
Circa 19th century with 18th century components
Item # 007DLG08P
A large and striking serving cabinet, this attractive piece brings a much needed sense of surface history to the interior. With a gorgeous worn and patinated solid oak throughout that has softened to a silky touch from years of handling and waxing, this is a fine decorator piece that works beautifully in a large hall, in the dining room or as a functional strikepoint piece in the living areas.
In the upper, three drawers slide in and out of the case, each incredibly heavy constructed drawers with nailed corners and original diamond back pulls and escutcheon. A pair of opposing doors swing on barrel hinges to reveal a single-shelf interior. The shelf is not adjustable.
Measurements: 45 7/8" H x 21 1/4" D x 69 1/8" W
Probably somewhat altered and made up of old components during the 19th century. Back legs spliced on. Top reaffixed with modern nails, some curving to the top from shrinkage over time. Drawer lock not working with current key. No key for cabinet doors. Shelf inside is perfectly functional, but the glue joints between the boards have weakend/separated and wiggle a bit.
