ROCOCO REVIVAL CARVED WALNUT CENTER TABLE BY Z.K.W.A.M.Z
Germany, circa 1930s; retaining original label underneath
Item # 909VPF22P

An attractive center table designed by the German furniture manufacturer Z.K.W.A.M.Z., it is of nearly identical form to a library desk currently available in our shop also by the firm. Both are labeled and approved by the same furniture "master", but executed by different craftsmen in the shop. There is great symmetry in the table, particularly in the top with its four-way match-booked veneers that create a squaring effect. This is surrounded by a banded edge, the extreme edge of the circular table top being embellished with a repeating carved motif. This projects over a powerful tri-form base with handsome carved profiles along the knees and deep applied carvings to the inside of the leg over generous animal paw feet.

Measurements: 29 1/4" H x 41 1/2" diameter

Condition Report:
Surface is worn and discolored from sun exposure. Minor chipping to feet, legs (including some veneer chips along the bottom edge of legs) and table edge. A few old oxidized scratches on the table top. Some water damage to the top with a lighter spot of old discoloration.
