A gorgeous pair of gilt bronze vases designed vby Ferdinand Levillain for F. Barbedienne and retailed during the last quarter of the 19th century, they feature a series of bas-relief vines and leaves clusters of berries surrounding a vasiform body flanked on either side by a mascaron head beneath shaped handles. They are raised over a shaped socle over an original rouge marble base with ogee edge. Both signed.
Measurements: 6" H x 5 5/8" W (top)
Condition Report:
Handles slightly misshaped. Trace rubbing wear, oxidization and tarnish to gilding. Minor chipping to original rouge marble bases.
