About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

MID CENTURY TEAK, ALUMINUM AND LAMINATE SERVING BAR CART
Denmark, circa 1950s; designed by Poul Nørrelklit
Item # 809DPG20P

An unusual and rather excellent serving cart, it is crafted with mellow teak veneers with white laminate serving surfaces and rides over polished metal legs.  The sealed top slides on grooves to reveal a spacious cabinet for drink prep while employing laminate to protect from spill damage.  We love the key that is designed to appear as a knob, a very attractive and design appropriate little element that brings the upper portion of the cabinet together with the legs beautifully.  It rests over half-moon castor wheels and operates very smoothly.

Measurements:  28 9/16” H x 16 1/2” W x 33” D

Condition Report:
Old finish with some staining and wear; retains original key/knob.  Laminate is original with some minor discolorations & light scuffing.  Legs with some tarnish and wear.  Overall remaining in excellent vintage condition.
