Pair of French Art Deco Carpathian Elm Burl Nightstands c. 1930s
PAIR OF FRENCH ART DECO CARPATHIAN ELM BURL NIGHTSTANDS
Circa 1930s, with black glass tops
Item # 811UTP20P
These very attractive and relatively uncommon pair of Art Deco nightstands are dressed in a vivid English Elm veneer, known as Carpathian Burl when cut to this dramatic effect. The angular stepping of the feet and squareness of the tables is softened by the curving bevel around the black glass tops and the gentle arch over the book shelf. Both cabinet doors retain original gilt brone squared knobs. Crafted in the 1930s, they remain in good original condition throughout.
Measurements: 27” H x 17 3/4” W x 13 3/4” D
Some scuffs and color loss to the black glass. Minor cracking of veneers, light chipping to edges of backs. Other very minor age typical surface flaws and scuffs.
