Pair of French Neoclassical Painted Arm Chairs | 19th Century
ITEM #: 007EPT30
PAIR OF FRENCH NEOCLASSICAL PAINTED FAUTEUILS
Circa late 19th century
Item # 007EPT30
A delightful pair of 19th century arm chairs in the Neoclassical taste of the Louis XVI period with an austere overall profile. The frames are lightly carved with floral bouquets in the crest, a squared relief carving in the aprons and inset rosettes in the knees, overall remaining relatively free of embellishment in the early worn beige painted surfaces highlighted with gilt. They are covered in a wonderful gray damask, overall very comfortable and remaining quite serviceable. These have a fine presence throughout and add much needed surface history to the modern interior.
Note, we may still have a matching pair of arm chairs and a matching settee available in the shop en suite with this pair of chairs. Please contact us for details or search our shop inventory if these interest you.
