Circa early 20th century, likely English
Item # 901PHM23P

We may have up to four of this chair available in the shop, each being sold individually.  A rather superb chair of fine craftsmanship, it is finished in a black lacquer with bas-relief gilded motifs throughout.  The crest rail is beautifully decorated with four honeysuckle flowers over an exaggerated anthemion that flows half the length of the splat back.  Each knee is embellished with lobed shell highlights over opposing C-scroll returns inside of the cabriole legs, these terminating over simple padded feet.  The striped upholstery is high quality and remains in excellent condition.  A sturdy and very comfortable chair, it is inordinately stylish with delicate and sinuous lines.

Measurements: 42" H x 20 3/4" W x 19 5/8" D 19" H to seat

Condition Report:
Edge wear to lacquer and extensive rubbing to the gilding; wear to feet and knees; upholstery in good-to-very-good condition without any notable flaws; only one chair is photographed, but each has relatively the same degree of wear - shots of the exact chair you are purchasing are available upon request.
