About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

REGENCY STYLE MAHOGANY AND LEATHER DRUM-TOP ACCENT TABLE
England, circa 1900
Item # 003BOE13

An attractive and beautifully patinated drum-top table in the Regency taste, the craftsmanship is true to the period and results in a very fine presentation. The leather is particularly nice with extensive natural wear that lends richness and warmth to the piece. This is surrounded by a reeded rim edge that projects lightly over the circular apron lined with alternating faux and functional drawers. The functioning drawers are hand dovetailed in the standard way with thin oak secondary woods, all hung with worn brass batwing pulls. The top is raised over a turned vasiform baluster with three sabre legs dovetailed into the bottom of the column, each deeply reeded and terminating over brass animal-paw sabots and casters.

Measurements: 24" diameter x 29 1/2" H

Condition Report:
Small chip losses to veneer around drum-top and some scars/abrasions throughout. Extensively worn and patinated leather top. No keys.
