Persia, ca. 1st quarter of 20th century
Item # 904PSF17A

A stark and interesting rug, the full spectrum of color is captured with a variated palette of greens, salmon, lapis blue, navy blue, sky blue, pinks and teal over a ruby red ground and ivory spandrels. With a typical angular medallion center, the field is a wonderfully complex display of flowers and foliage woven with a density and symmetry that is quite compelling. The low pile allows the geometry and angularity of the designs to come through beautifully.

Measurements: 157" L x 116" W (approx. 13' x 9.5')

Condition Report:
In estate-found condition, would benefit from being professionally cleaned. Some discoloration to ivory ground, some minor staining/blemish. Pile is attractively low throughout with some visibility of weft/warp. Structure very sturdy and pliable. A very attractive piece.
