SEMI-ANTIQUE ROOM SIZE HERIZ RUG
Persia, circa 2nd quarter of the 20th century
Item # 910TPP19Z
A sharp and vibrant Heriz rug from the second quarter of the 20th century, probably circa 1930-40, this sturdy carpet features a sharp design with an overall low pile that brings the sharp geometry to the forefront. The center of the rug is a powerful eight-point medallion with a dark blue ground that allows each point to pop - these are delightful representations being somewhat anthemion in nature surrounded by a vibrant bright blue border around a coral diamond interior and teal central rosette. The all-over field of the rug is a tight symmetrical representation of flora and fauna with a gorgeous blue used in the upper and lower points as well as the acanthus throughout the field over a deep red ground. The spandrels are typical with an ivory background and coral tips.
It is a rich and vibrant piece, very sturdy and strong and remaining in very good estate condition.
