ART DECO EBONIZED WALNUT, ALUMINUM AND GLASS SIDE TABLE
Likely American, circa 1920s
Item #802TLX24
An unusual form inspired by the Streamline Moderne movement of the Art Deco period, this table was likely crafted during the late 1920s in the United States. Utilizing ebonized walnut veneers in a sprouted form, the table is a statement of oppositions: the outward curvature of the pedestal opposed by concave aluminum supports and held in place by the perfect T-shape of the cove molded base. The table has been beautifully refinished and polished, the top being a replacement of the exact specifications of the original. It is unmarked and remains in excellent condition throughout.
