About Us

The family-owned antiques and art gallery Silla, ltd. started as a passion for collecting special pieces.  After many years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife began showing pieces by appointment from their residence.  After a decade of growth and numerous location changes, including a move from Maryland to Pennsylvania, Silla, ltd. is located in the heart of the Cumberland Valley in the historic downtown of Shippensburg.

Our 9000 square foot gallery is home to a large collection of carefully curated period furniture, works of art and interesting objects from the late 18th century through the middle of the 20th century.  With a specialization in French bronze sculpture from the last quarter of the 19th century, particularly the Animaliers, we always have a large collection of exceptional sculpture on display.  We carry a large selection of fine furniture from the whole spectrum of periods; we are always seeking out pieces that are unusual in form, objects that are stand alone strikepoints for the room, items created by interesting designers and makers, or pieces that are just difficult to find. The common thread in all of our objects is the unwavering standard of quality, originality and excellence in form. Each object is individually curated and selected for these attributes, restored where minimally as possible, balancing purity against a clean presentation in today’s home.

Because shipping throughout the country is such an important part of our business, we have a fully equipped packing facility in-house, allowing our staff to professionally and thoughtfully package every piece for shipment to you.  Our pieces are available on every major sales platform, including 1stdibs, Incollect, Ruby Lane, Etsy, Houzz, Chairish, eBay, Design Carta and select items on Sotheby's Home.  While the vast majority of items are owned by the gallery, we do accept exceptional paintings and bronzes on consignment for clients looking for a discrete sale of their collections.

We welcome your visit to the gallery!  Because we travel quite extensively, it is generally a good idea to make an appointment before visiting, but the gallery is almost always staffed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9a-5:30p.  We are conveniently located at 117 W Burd St., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
