About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

We are always in the market to buy rare and exquisite sculpture and paintings. Our focuses include the Animaliers (and generally most animal sculpture, though predominantly French, executed circa 1860 through 1940), the Romantics and the Art Deco period. But we are also interested in fine works of art from other periods and movements throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. We also carry a diverse collection of European and American paintings circa 1850 through 1940, but our emphasis remains on 19th century landscapes, the Animal painters and the Barbizon School.

If you are looking to sell to us, please have an asking price prepared and all provenance documents, authentication paperwork and/or prior gallery invoices. Send an email to sales@sillafineantiques.com with a single initial image of your item, asking price and any information you have about it. We will reach out with confirmation as soon as the email is received and will reach out for further information after reviewing the item. Generally we will look to either video conference the item or will request specific images before settling on a price.
