About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

VINTAGE PAIR OF SCULPTED TEAK BAR STOOLS
Model 61 | Designed by Erik Buch for OD Møbler, circa 1960s
Item # 209LNP17P

An exquisite pair of original 1960s "Model 61" bar stools executed in teak and black vinyl faux-leather. They were designed by Erik Buch and manufactured by OD Møbler of Denmark and still retain the original label to the underside. The frames are crafted of sculpted solid teak with beautifully rounded profiles in the legs and an oversized platform for placing feet. Note the careful attention to clean lines with no exposed joinery or elements that would distract from the natural beauty of the oiled teak. A very fine pair - both have been carefully conserved in our in-house workshop, restored while preserving the historical surface and present in excellent original condition.

Measurements: 33" H x 17 5/8" D x 15 1/4" W, 29 3/4" H to seat

Condition Report: Excellent original condition. Surfaces have been carefully conditioned in our in-house workshop while preserving original finish and natural surface history; both present beautifully and are ready to serve for decades to come.
