About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

EXQUISITE PAIR OF FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE FULL LENGTH MIRROR
Parisian quality, circa early 20th century
Item # 007OGW30Z

A very fine pair of full-length mirrors, these angular objects are of exquisite quality - both in conceived design and in craftsman execution. They are relatively restrained in ornamentation and meld beautifully with the present-day interior. Both feature a pierced crest with furls of ribbon over a beaded draped garland that hangs over the beveled glass of the mirror from rosettes and swirling acanthus in the corners, these set over beige painted spandrels. A repeating form of carved serrated foliage surrounds the glass.

These are a rare acquisition that is most needed for both the traditional and modern interior, lending the touch of historical surface, aesthetic superiority and exquisite quality that create a dramatic visual strikepoint for the interior.

Measurements: 68 1/2" H x 1" D x 23 3/8" W

Condition Report:
Light chipping and scuffs to gilding. Original glass. Overall very fine condition.
