SET OF SIX PIERCE-MARTIN LEATHER-BOUND RATTAN DINING CHAIRS
Circa 21st century, most still labeled on the underside
Item # 811VMK09P
A sleek and stylish set of six dining chairs by the custom furniture maker Pierce-Martin, they are of very high quality throughout and show some rather excellent craftsmanship in this difficult material. The rattan is bound with weaving and then bound again in leather at many of the junctions, the brown and worn leather a very attractive accent against the brighter reed. It is a relatively unique form, a departure from most rattan forms in pushing the material limits somewhat with the undulating symmetrical curves in the front legs, more severely in the rear legs and also with a delightful outward swell into leather-bound ears in the stiles. They are an excellent set that was carefully built to last the test of time.
Measurements: 37 1/8" H x 21 1/4" W x 22" D x 18 3/8" H to seat
Finish scuffs in a few places, notably to the feet. Wear to the leather in a few places, mostly in the ears of the crest. Most cushions have a few spots of blemish/stain to them; the fabric itself is high quality and remains serviceable for the time being until you have the fabric changed.
