About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

DANISH MID CENTURY TEAK TRESTLE-LEG DINING CHAIRS - SET OF 6
Designed and manufactured by Gangso Møbler | circa mid 20th century

This lovely set of six dining chairs Gangso Møbler were made en suite with a dining table that we may still have available in the shop (sold separately, contact us or browse current inventory to see if it remains available). They feature an attractive molded trestle leg and stretcher with overall teak veneers with a rich golden hue. One chair retains a label from Gangso Møbler on the underside. Note the interesting form with a leg that perfectly matches the dining table and creates a very sleek profile.

Measurements: 31 5/8" H x 18 7/8" D x 18" W x 17 1/2" H to seat

Condition Report:
Upholstery needs to be changed (worn, torn and some staining). Chairs are sturdy and strong in all joints. Some raised grain and grain shrinkage splits, minor use indicators here and there, but otherwise a very good presentation.
