An exquisite scene typical of Cradock, the painting captures at the forefront the proud Peacock and Peahens overlooking scattered chicks as the sun comes out with a storm moving into the distance. Birds fly across the blue skies filled with a variety of clouds over the classical landscape featuring tailored grounds and two stately houses in the distance.

Light surface craquelure; old very light inpainted touchups to craquelure; extreme edges of the painting with some old inpainting visible under UV; fine early frame with regilded surface, minor blemish/chip/flaws as expected with a period frame.
