About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

RETRO 14K "TANK TRACK" BRACELET BY WILLY JUNGET (DENMARK, FL. 1954-1973)
Item # C104264

An absolutely fantastic Danish modern bracelet designed by Willy Junget, it borrows the best elements of the Retro period with the distinctive "tank track" motif that was so popular following World War II but stylizes it into a more sleek composition of tear-drop links. The result is slinky and angular, a clear development over the more chunky designs of the prior generation. A very substantial piece weighing in at just over 70 grams, the bracelet wears comfortably at 7 1/4" in overall wearable length (not including tongue of clasp). The sleek links catch and reflect light against the brilliant high-polish. The box clasp is marked with the maker's mark "WJ" and the gold hallmarks.

Specifications:

  • Composition: 14 Karat Yellow Gold
  • Markings: "MADE IN DENMARK", "WJ", "585"
  • Dimensions: 7 1/4" wearable length x 3/4" wide
  • Age: Circa third quarter of the 20th century
  • Total Weight: 70.6 grams
  • Condition notes: Very fine vintage condition; fully conditioned by our jeweler with only minor surface history visible; a very good presentation.
