EMPIRE GILT AND PATINATED BRONZE PAPERWEIGHT WITH PUTTO FIGURAL

An empire paperweight cast in bronze with a patinated putto raising a floral garland over his head while kneeling over a gilt bronze stepped base. This is raised over a stepped plinth with marble housed inside for weight. It is an attractive decorative casting from the first half of the 19th century and adds a little texture to desks and tables, still serving beautifully as a paperweight.
Measurements: 5 1/4" H x 3 1/4" W x 3 1/4" D
Condition Report:
Handling wear to patina and tarnish/discolorations to the gilding. Old grime buildup in crevices and oxidization to surface of the bronze.
