About us

silla was born out of a passion for beautiful objects: special pieces with aesthetic and historical significance. In 2009, after years of collecting, Andrew Silla and his wife Grace began to work privately with clients from their residence in Southern Maryland. Quickly outgrowing the space, the business was moved from Maryland to Pennsylvania in 2012 and after several warehouse location changes it was firmly settled in the present brick-and-mortar location in downtown Shippensburg.

The 9000 square foot brick-and-mortar gallery is home to a large collection of works of art and estate jewelry. We specialize in sculpture circa 1860 through 1930 with a particular emphasis on the Animaliers and as such the gallery always has a very large collection of exceptional European and American sculpture available on display.

MID-CENTURY WALNUT "TUXEDO" SOFA BY LANE
United States, circa 1960s; retaining early and probably original upholstery
Item # 208YXK18P

A very nice mid-century sofa from Lane's highly sought-after "Tuxedo" line still retaining a wonderful early woven tween upholstery, it features sleek square lines with the two sections of cushions situated over a solid walnut frame and angular tapered legs. It is incredibly comfortable and solid, built to last the test of time for decades to come.

We may still have available in our inventory the pair of matching end tables with their iconic bowtie steel hardware.

Measurements: 92" W x 30 3/8" H x 18" H to seat x 33" D

Condition Report:
Upholstery is early and probably original with some light fading from sun exposure - this is a bit more notable on the back, where there is a faint outline where neck throws were likely in place at some point. A few spots of loose threads. A few spots of blemish/discoloration to the fabric (we can send shots of each specific spot on request). Sturdy, strong and very comfortable.
