An exquisite selection from the rich design period later identified as Swedish Grace, this gorgeous center table is a complex and stunning design utilizing solid birch and birch veneers finished in a high-gloss French polish.
The top is an inlaid checkerboard pattern utilizing birch squares with alternating grain patterns and natural color variations surrounding a larger central square divided into triangles. The substantial apron is perfectly balanced against the weight of the root-like profile of the legs with their substantial arched stretchers.
It remains a rare and unusually stunning table preserved in exquisite condition.
